Travis is the only openly LGBTQ+ member of Shell Legal’s global DEI Committee, providing programming for a department of over 1000 staffers and advocating for policies, systemic change, and inclusion efforts affecting Legal’s constituents. In addition, he was an active speaker at Shell’s events, such as International Coming Out Day in 2021, along with four other LGBTQ+ employees, all sharing stories about their coming out journeys and experiences as out-professionals. Travis also spoke at Shell Americas Lubricants’ spotlight on LGBTQ+ inclusion in 2021, covering issues related to intersectionality, LGBTQ+ inclusion, ERGs, and Shell USA’s PRIDE Discussion in 2022. Travis has also been a mentor for an ERG mentoring program exploring issues of intersectional identities for midcareer professionals and has taken his efforts externally by becoming the President of the National LGBTQ+ Bar Foundation, the largest association of lawyers, judges, students, and legal professionals promoting justice in/through the legal profession for the LGBTQ+ community.
