Since becoming CEO of IDA Ireland in 2014, Martin has advanced a diversity and inclusion agenda through the appointment of Executive Sponsors for key pillars of gender, LGBT+, socio-economic status and ability. Martin takes an active approach to his advocacy, attending and leading on as many events and activities as possible. The IDA launched its first LGBT Ally Network in 2018 and, under Martin’s guidance and support, has run a variety of programmes and activities throughout the past year, including a role model event in conversation with the Irish Prime Minister (An Taoiseach) Leo Varadkar in October 2018. Martin has also promoted LGBT+ inclusion externally, having spoken and participated in the World HRD Congress in Mumbai, delivering the keynote address at University College Dublin’s launch of their Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Policy, and sits as a judge for the 2019 Irish Red Cross Humanitarian Awards. In addition to his role at IDA Ireland, Martin is Adjunct Professor at the UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate School of Business.
